The *order Pediculati* is a now-outdated taxonomic grouping that formerly included anglerfishes and other fish with modified pectoral fins resembling limbs. These fish are characterized by having their pectoral fins attached to a wrist-like structure. Anglerfish use a bioluminescent lure to attract prey. The *order Pediculati* is now largely replaced by the order Lophiiformes. They represent an interesting example of convergent evolution. Their hunting strategies are both clever and brutal.
