"Petaurista" is a genus of giant flying squirrels found in Asia. These squirrels are much larger than typical flying squirrels, with some species reaching impressive sizes. They possess a patagium, a membrane that extends between their limbs, allowing them to glide between trees. They are nocturnal creatures, foraging for food at night. They feed on fruits, nuts, and leaves. Think of them as the stealth bombers of the squirrel world, silently gliding through the night. They play an important role in seed dispersal.
