Definition
*Pilea pumilla*, often called clearweed, is a small, annual plant known for its translucent stems. It belongs to the nettle family (Urticaceae), but it does not sting. It typically grows in moist, shaded areas. The leaves are opposite and have a somewhat succulent appearance. It's native to eastern Asia and eastern North America. Think of it as the chill, see-through cousin of the stinging nettle. It's a subtle plant, preferring the understory.
