A planetoid is another name for a minor planet. πͺ It's a celestial body that orbits a star but is smaller than a major planet. Planetoids can be rocky, metallic, or icy. Most are found in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, but some exist in other parts of the solar system. They come in various sizes, from tiny fragments to objects hundreds of kilometers across. Unlike planets, planetoids aren't massive enough to clear their orbital path of other objects. They provide valuable insights into the early solar system's formation.
