A PT boat, short for Patrol Torpedo boat, was a small, fast, and agile vessel used primarily by the U.S. Navy during World War II. These boats were designed to attack larger enemy ships with torpedoes. PT boats were known for their speed and maneuverability, allowing them to quickly engage and disengage from combat. They operated mostly in the Pacific Theater. PT boats were like maritime guerilla fighters, harassing larger forces with hit-and-run tactics.
