Richard Leakey (1944-2022) was a Kenyan paleoanthropologist, conservationist, and politician. He continued his parents' (Louis and Mary Leakey) work in East Africa. Richard Leakey made significant discoveries of early hominin fossils, including 'Turkana Boy.' He was a strong advocate for wildlife conservation and fought against poaching. He also served in the Kenyan government. Leakey's contributions spanned scientific research, environmental protection, and public service.
