Saurischian refers to a dinosaur belonging to the Saurischia order. This group is characterized by having a 'lizard-hipped' pelvic structure. It includes both meat-eating theropods and long-necked herbivorous sauropods. 🦖 Birds are also descendants of one branch of saurischian dinosaurs. So technically, your pet parakeet has more in common with a T. rex than a Triceratops does! Saurischian dinosaurs show a wide variety of body types and adaptations.
