Definition
A seahorse is a small, unique fish with a horse-like head, bony armor, and a prehensile tail. They belong to the *Hippocampus* genus within the Syngnathidae family, which also includes pipefish. Seahorses are found in tropical and temperate waters around the world. They are masters of camouflage, blending in with seaweed and coral. Unusually, the male seahorse carries the eggs in a pouch until they hatch. They are slow swimmers and primarily feed on small crustaceans.
