Sedna is a dwarf planet in the outer reaches of our solar system, far beyond Pluto. It is one of the most distant known objects in our solar system. Imagine a frozen world, smaller than our moon, orbiting the sun at an incredibly slow pace. Its orbit is so elongated that it takes thousands of years to complete one revolution. The extreme distance and unusual orbit make Sedna a fascinating object of study for astronomers. It is named after an Inuit goddess.
