Seleucus I Nicator was one of Alexander the Great's generals. After Alexander's death, his vast empire was divided among his generals, and Seleucus got a big chunk of it, mainly in the East. He founded the Seleucid Empire, which was a major power in the Hellenistic world. Think of him as the guy who picked up the pieces after the star player left the game, creating a new dynasty from the ruins. He was a skilled military leader and administrator, navigating complex politics to secure his empire.
