Spin, in a political or public relations context, is a biased interpretation of an event or information to create a favorable impression. It involves presenting facts in a way that supports a particular agenda. It's a form of persuasion that often relies on selective reporting or manipulation. Unlike objective reporting, spin is intentionally slanted. Think of it as putting a positive gloss on a negative situation, or twisting the truth to your advantage. A politician avoiding a question by redirecting is using 'spin'.
