A stalagmite is a mineral formation that rises from the floor of a cave. Think of it as the stalactite's ground-based buddy! ⛰️ It's formed by water dripping from above, depositing minerals over time. Unlike a stalactite, which hangs downwards from the ceiling, a stalagmite grows upwards. The 'g' in stalagmite can remind you that it's on the ground.
