Definition
A storm petrel is a small seabird known for its ability to fly low over the water, often pattering its feet on the surface, as if walking on water. 🌊 They belong to the family Hydrobatidae. These birds are typically dark in color and have a distinctive fluttering flight. Storm petrels are found in oceans around the world and feed on plankton and small fish. Think of them as the ballerinas of the sea, gracefully dancing over the waves. They are also known for their distinctive, sometimes musky, odor and often forage at night, guided by the moon and stars.
