The striped hyena (*Hyaena hyaena*) is a species of hyena found in North and East Africa, the Middle East, and parts of Asia. These animals are known for their distinctive black stripes on a grayish-brown coat. They are scavengers and opportunistic hunters. Think of them as the ninjas of the hyena world, blending into the shadows! They have a bushy mane that they can raise when threatened. They are generally solitary or live in small family groups.
