Definition
Sunni Islam is the most widespread branch of Islam, representing the majority of Muslims worldwide. βͺοΈ Sunni Muslims hold the belief that the succession after Prophet Muhammad should be determined by consensus among the Muslim community. They place great importance on following the Sunnah, the teachings and practices of the Prophet Muhammad. This contrasts with Shia Islam, where leadership is believed to be divinely appointed through the lineage of Ali ibn Abi Talib.
