Definition
A syllogism is a type of logical argument that consists of two premises (statements assumed to be true) and a conclusion. 🤔 The conclusion is claimed to follow logically from the premises. Think of it as a structured way to deduce information. A classic example: All men are mortal; Socrates is a man; therefore, Socrates is mortal. Syllogisms are used to test the validity of arguments and to identify logical fallacies. However, a syllogism can be valid (logically correct) even if its premises are false.
