Definition
A thill is one of the shafts of a carriage or wagon, specifically the one on either side of the animal that pulls it. Think of them as the arms connecting the vehicle to the horse. π΄ It differs from a pole, which is a single shaft used for multiple animals; thills are paired. These are part of older technology. It is rarely seen these days. They are mainly used in historical reenactments or in very traditional settings.
