Definition
A treehopper is a small insect belonging to the family Membracidae, known for their distinctive and often bizarrely shaped pronotum (a helmet-like structure on their back). These insects are masters of camouflage, blending in seamlessly with the plants they inhabit. Think of them as the chameleons of the insect world, but with built-in helmets. They feed on plant sap and are found worldwide. Some are even mistaken for thorns!
