Definition
A vole is a small rodent that resembles a mouse, but with a stouter body, shorter tail, and smaller eyes and ears. Voles are found in various habitats, including grasslands, meadows, and forests. They are herbivores, feeding on grasses, seeds, and roots. Some vole species create extensive tunnel systems. These creatures play an important role in the ecosystem as prey animals. Think of them as the chubby cousins of mice.
