Definition
White campion, also known as silene latifolia, is a flowering plant with white blooms, mainly at night. It's a close relative to the red campion, but its flowers are usually white. Unlike some flowers that attract bees during the day, white campion attracts moths at night. Consider it the night owl of the flower world. It thrives in disturbed soils and can be found along roadsides and in fields. Its blooms open in the evening, releasing a sweet fragrance. It's dioecious, so there are separate male and female plants.
