Wilhelm Reich (1897-1957) was an Austrian-American psychoanalyst known for his controversial theories about 'orgone' energy. He expanded on Freud's work, believing that neuroses stem from suppressed sexual energy. Reich proposed that orgone, a cosmic life force, could be accumulated and used therapeutically. His ideas diverged sharply from mainstream science and psychoanalysis. Imagine him as a scientist exploring uncharted territories of the mind and body. However, his methods and claims led to conflicts with authorities. Ultimately, his work was discredited and banned in the US.
