Definition
Woman-worship, also known as gyneolatry or gynaeolatry, is the excessive admiration or idealization of women. It's placing women on an impossibly high pedestal. It goes beyond simple appreciation or respect; it's akin to treating women as goddesses. This can involve romanticizing femininity or idealizing motherhood. It can happen when a person sees a popular celebrity as the perfect ideal. Although it might seem positive, it can be damaging. It puts pressure on women to conform to unrealistic standards. It's seeing women as symbols rather than individuals.
