Definition
"Zodiacal light" is a faint, diffuse glow visible in the night sky, appearing as a roughly triangular white light extending from the direction of the Sun and along the zodiac. It is caused by sunlight scattering off interplanetary dust in the inner solar system. This dust is primarily concentrated in the plane of the ecliptic, which is the path the Sun appears to take across the sky. The zodiacal light is best observed in dark skies, away from city lights. It's often seen before sunrise or after sunset. It's a beautiful reminder of the vastness and mystery of space. ✨
