Definition
Juvenile warts, also known as flat warts, are small, smooth, flesh-colored or slightly brownish warts that commonly appear on the face, neck, hands, and legs of children and teenagers. They are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) and tend to occur in clusters. Unlike common warts, juvenile warts are flat and slightly raised. They are often spread by scratching or shaving. They're usually harmless but can be bothersome due to their appearance. Treatment options include topical medications or freezing.
