Definition
The lamboid suture is a cranial suture on the back of the skull that connects the parietal bones to the occipital bone. Picture the back of your head π§ ; it's a 'V' shape like the Greek letter lambda (Ξ). Itβs a fibrous joint that allows for slight movement and growth during childhood. Think of it as a flexible seam holding the back of your skull together. As you age, this suture gradually fuses. It is named for its resemblance to the Greek letter lambda.
